We are delighted to announce that we have received a grant from Arts Council of Wales’ ‘Stabilisation fund for organisations’.  The grant will enable us to work on planning for the post-lockdown situation and produce a robust and sustainable business plan so that we can move forward in a strong position.  We have been holding weekly art sessions on Zoom, and our Chair’s old laptop was struggling, the grant has enabled us to buy an up-to-date laptop.  The ‘Stabilisation fund for organisations’ is supported by the National Lottery, which has made up to £600 million available to support communities throughout the UK during the Coronavirus crisis.  The National Lottery is playing a critical role in supporting people, projects and communities during these challenging times.

We have also had a grant from Tesco Bags of Help Covid fund, which has enabled us to send parcels of art materials to our members who are self-isolating and unable to get their own art materials.  One recipient commented  ‘Wow.....parcel has just arrived...Thanks so much.’  We look forward to seeing the works that members will make with the materials.

And we have had a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All to develop the business plan beyond the immediate needs of recovery post-Covid, and buy more art materials to send to members.

We have also been awarded a grant from Community Foundation Wales Coronavirus Resilience fund, which will support some of our core costs and also a group P.A. for 6 months when we can hold face-to-face meetings again, to help members settle back in to group sessions.

We are very grateful to all the funders, as their support will enable us to recover from the Covid crisis as life starts to get going again.

We are hoping that it won’t be too long now before we can resume weekly face-to-face art sessions, hopefully October 2020, but in the meantime we continue on Zoom, every Wednesday 11-1.

And we need you!  We are looking for volunteers who can help in a variety of roles, including session facilitators.  We meet in Newtown, Caersws, Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion and Machynlleth.  The opportunity is ideal for anyone wanting experience in facilitating art sessions.  All you need is enthusiasm and a friendly, helpful, inclusive manner.  We are also looking for anyone with management expertise who would like to help with the development of Celf-Able. If you would like to find out about these and other roles please get in touch, 01938 810058, admin@celf-able.org.
