Celf- Able Director

I have been drawing and painting, keeping sketchbooks and scrapbooks for as long as I can remember, nature, landscape and abstract being my special interests.

In my youth, I went to art college to study textile design, covering many related subjects, such as life drawing, drawing from Roman busts, weaving and printmaking. I studied many great artists, writing essays on painting and art history.

Later, when living in London, I worked at Odhams Press in Covent Garden, doing layout on ‘WOMAN’ magazine, and was shown around the printing works, which was very interesting.

While living in Lincolnshire, I attended Grimsby Colege of Art doing sculpture and welding as well as painting and printmaking.

Since moving to Wales in 1994 I have enjoyed Aberystwyth University’s Lifelong Learning Programme, attending courses in a side range of art subjects, including Summer Schools at Gregynog, an inspiring place to stay.

I have had solo and shared exhibitions over the years and my work has been accepted for several juried shows, including MOMA Macynlleth.
